Castel acquires Barton & Guestier

Castel, leading producer of French wines worldwide, acquires Bordeaux oldest wine merchant, previously owned by Diageo: Barton & Guestier

The latter has been actively involved in selling French wines worldwide since 1725. Selling wines in 130 countries, Barton & Guestier is well-known through the development of a wide range of French wines, with renowned brands and estates such as B&G, Fonset Lacour, Prince Noir, Thomas Barton, French Tom, Originel, Château Magnol, … This wine merchant has a turnover of 25 million Euros and sells around 10 millions bottles per year mostly to export markets (95%) such as USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Korea, Japan, Baltic countries and Africa. Located near Bordeaux in Château Magnol (Cru Bourgeois, appellation Haut-Médoc), Barton & Guestier will remain an independent entity managed by M. Nicolas Gailly, and will benefit from new opportunities generated by its new shareholder namely Castel.
